DR. ROBERT ZIEVE
What To Expect

Many people throughout the nation are unable to go to a good national integrative cancer clinic. Now, you can make a phone or clinic appointment with Dr. Zieve for a comprehensive consultation and start your therapeutic process.
Dr. Zieve will provide a comprehensive written consultation to you, beyond your consultation with him. This will include nutritional guidance, advice as to integrative cancer therapies (both oral and IV) that a local Boulder naturopathic physician can administer to you, on recommendation from Dr. Zieve to the naturopathic physician’s supervising M.D.

Dr. Zieve will provide you with a list of oral therapies that he has prescribed for some of his patients with your particular type of cancer, as well as therapies that address lab identified imbalances that could interfere with your progress with your oncology therapies.
If you are on Medicare, Dr. Zieve will also make test suggestions your Medicare physician or oncologist can do on your original biopsy slides to learn more about your particular cancer--where its weaknesses and strengths are, and how these can be successfully addressed. Dr. Zieve is familiar with what are the best national companies that sell nutrients and herbs that support patients with cancer and will make suggestions based on some of these companies and herbothocaries.

By having a consultation with Dr. Zieve, he can prescribe any particular therapies for you, including any medications or supplements. Many oncologists, unfortunately, are not receptive to integrative oncology practices. Dr. Zieve, can, if necessary, can compose an email or letter to your oncologist with particular suggestions to support your program. He can provide you with guidance as to the modern oncology treatments that can help you and suggest therapies to help potentiate these therapies while minimizing their side effects.

What to Expect When You Consult with Dr. Zieve:
Because Dr. Zieve is very thorough in his evaluation and development of treatment protocols, he requests that each new patient make every attempt to provide any scans, lab tests, path reports, surgical reports, and physician consultations that are pertinent to your cancer, prior to your initial consultation. This will give him an opportunity to review your records prior to speaking.

-
Your initial consultation will last approximately 1-1.5 hours.
-
At the end of your initial consultation, Dr. Zieve or someone in our office will likely provide you with a form for additional lab requests that are required to evaluate a patient’s biological terrain. These labs are much more extensive than the very minimal lab tests ordered by most oncologists.
-
In the days after your initial consultation, Dr. Zieve will e-mail or print for you a comprehensive initial consultation report, which will include his thoughts, comments, and suggestions. He will also provide you with a suggested initial therapy protocol.
-
He will suggest that you schedule your first follow-up consultation a certain commonsense time period after your initial consultation, to discuss what he has sent you. The purposes of this consultation are to review your lab results, help you plan and strategize your future care, whether that be at our clinic or with your oncologist or surgeon, and answer any questions you have after reading his consultation report.
-
If you see Dr. Zieve in person here for your first consultation, your follow-up visit may be per telephone from Dr. Zieve’s home office in Prescott, AZ. If you start your consultation process with Dr. Zieve per telephone from his home office, then your follow-up consultation will be when he arrives at our clinic early the following month.
