Our 10 day seminars are designed to allow you freedom to relax and explore the countryside.
Life is as simple as living from your heart, letting love be your guide, your understanding, your fulfillment, and your healer! After 40 years as a family doctor, this is the fundamental principle supporting my second family practice, Fully Alive Medicine. I’m currently practicing a new specialty, Integrative Holistic Medicine, based on the core beliefs:
- Unconditional love is life’s most powerful healer.
- The perceived loss of love is our greatest health risk.
How did I get here?…After 12 years of building what was considered the highest-volume family practice in the Denver metro area, I left Columbine Medical Center in Littleton in 1987 with the mission of establishing a new foundation for 21st century health care. I had just cured myself of a 10-year siege of misery with chronic sinusitis, using a holistic (body-mind-spirit) medical approach. Yet I had been told 7 years earlier by an ENT physician that I’d have to learn to live with it...there was nothing more that could be done.
After selling Columbine to Porter Hospital in 1986, I worked for the hospital as their Medical Director. During a meeting with Porter’s CEO, when I expressed an interest in practicing holistic medicine at CMC, I was told, “you can’t do it here.” That rejection fueled my passion for transforming medicine and healing our ailing health care system.
It also marked the beginning of a 24-year hiatus in working full-time doing the job I most enjoy…practicing the art and science of health and healing.
During the past two decades I’ve dedicated myself to teaching this self-care discipline to both the public and the medical community, while also providing an opportunity for practicing medicine part-time, training as a health educator and writer, and practicing what I teach on myself…walking the talk. At the age of 64, I’m feeling more fit physically, emotionally, and spiritually than I ever have.
I am now synthesizing all that I’ve learned during my lifelong evolution as a healer and teacher, and integrating it into a new model for family practice and a new foundation for 21st century health care! I’ve been joined in this exciting endeavor by a team of gifted healers and teachers who share a similar vision. We’re honored to be serving the health care needs of the Boulder community, with a focus on treating, preventing, and curing chronic illness and creating optimal health.
